Palazzo della luce - Penthouse

This project involved the transformation of the rooftop service areas into a luxury penthouse apartment in a renowned nineteenth-century building in the centre of Turin. The client brief was to create a space that celebrated their choice with no regrets to move from the hills into the city centre.
The particular shape of the building, crowned by a high lithic balustrade, offers high levels of privacy and generates the perception of living in an "urban villa".

The fragmented existing spaces are connected and integrated into a single design that is organized around an open green courtyard, that screens the residence from surrounding buildings. The apartment is almost entirely on one level, and the large roof garden hosts a small studio over-looking the skyline of Turin.

All the rooms view the internal courtyard through a full-height window and the luminous spaces are seamlessly separated. The rooms facing outwards were carefully planned in order to accommodate the client’s furniture (considerably larger) while the master suite boasts an ample walk-in wardrobe to satisfy client requirements.
The outdoor spaces on different levels are covered by wooden decking with planters for living walls and , which characterize the entire project.
